You really want to start doing sports, but something always comes up when you want to do it. Even if you know the many health benefits of sport and fitness, the implementation is a completely different matter. But so that you can overcome your weaker self, lace up your sports shoes and do something for yourself and your body, we have prepared eight tips for more motivation for you here.
Fixed Times
Humans are creatures of habits. Create space in your everyday life to carry out your training. The easiest way to do this is to set aside a fixed amount of time each day to do this. (e.g. before you shower or during a TV show). Stick to your workout schedule and don’t get distracted. This time belongs entirely to you and your body. See this period of time as a luxury that you allow yourself and your body! This turns your training into a ritual that you will soon no longer want to do without. Once regular training has become a habit, you realize that you need the sport to continue to feel comfortable in your own skin.
Only For A Bit
You had planned to exercise tonight, but don’t feel like it? Make it as easy as possible for yourself, so scrape together all the little bits of motivation and force yourself to do a bit of sport, at least “just for a short time”. We are sure that – once you’re at it – you’ll train longer. Once you pick yourself up to exercise, there’s a good chance you’ll finish the workout.
Look For A Workout Partner
Sport is much more fun together! Find a training partner who pursues similar goals as you! Together, you make more effort to show your counterpart where the hammer hangs. Make fixed training dates together, so you can be sure to train regularly!
Do What Is Fun For You
Brisk running burns the most calories? That may be so, but unless you’re an endurance fanatic, there’s no point in pushing yourself to jog regularly. Do what you enjoy! do you prefer to play basketball or volleyball? Or do you love swimming? Then power yourself up in your favorite sport and training will quickly become a hobby that you have come to love.
Be Proud Of Small Successes
You don’t get the body you want overnight. That’s why it would be less motivating and also unfair to your body to throw in the towel after just a few training sessions. Proceed in small steps and regularly write down the parameters that are important to you: The bicep circumference has increased by 1 cm? The thigh circumference shrunk by 2cm? Congratulations, you are on the right track! And by the way, have you noticed that it’s been a lot easier to get up the stairs lately? And have less back pain, appear more self-confident or sleep better? Try it!
